A Quiet Place (15)

A Quiet Place is unlike any movie you’ve seen before. As mesmerising as it is terrifying, John Krasinski’s horror is nothing short of brilliant.

Following the near annihilation of mankind, a young family is forced to live in complete silence to risk being devoured by creature that hunt by sound.

Parents Lee and Evelyn will do whatever it takes to keep their children safe in world full of murderous creatures. But as you can imagine raising a young family in complete silence is near impossible and soon enough they are fighting for their lives all because of one seemingly insignificant noise.

John Krasinkski both directs and stars in the movie alongside his wife Emily Blunt. Unknown to her the role was purposely written for Blunt.

There are scenes that just take your breath away. I have never been so engrossed in a movie, so captivated by the action, so personally invested in the characters. The beauty of A Quiet Place is that the majority of the movie is spent in silence, so the slightest sound triggers the same panic in you that the characters are experiencing.

Millicent Simmonds who plays Regan in the movie doesn’t just play a deaf character she is in fact deaf in real life. This gave her the chance to inform the signing in the movie and make it as dramatic as possible.

A Quiet Place is visceral, captivating and simultaneously terrifying. A new breed of horror movie. In short, It’s a masterpiece.
